The registration fee is 15,000 yen (10,000 for students), which will be collected at the registration desk on Nov. 3, 1999. It can be paid only in cash, and we accept only Japanese yen. It is not included in the local expense, so that all the participants should pay the registration fee. ------------- Accommodation ------------- We will send the hotel-reservation information to the participants by email. Please check your arrival and departure dates. If you need to change your reservation, please send an email message to Ms. Kishino (spin99@rarfaxp.riken.go.jp). (1) Daiichi Hotel at Hikarigaoka --- All the single international participants and some of the Japanese participants are accommodated in this hotel. Address: Takamatsu 5-8, Nerima-ku Tokyo, 179-0075 Japan Telephone: +81-3-5372-4411 Fax: -4483 http://www.dhh.co.jp (only in Japanese) Price for a single room per day including breakfast = 12,000 yen + tax Payment: cash or major cards (AMEX, VISA, MASTER) If we promise the local support, you do NOT have to pay the room charge of Nov.2-6 (7th departure). There will be bus transportation between the hotel and Riken. Access from the Narita airport: First, please find how to get to the Tobu-Tojo line from the Narita airport by looking at http://www.riken.go.jp/eng/CMP/cmp_e/wako_access_e.html or http://www2.cc.saga-u.ac.jp/saga-u/riko/physics/quantum1/dai1.jpg. Please get off the train at the Narimasu station on the Tobu-Tojo line. If you take express or semi-express train from Ikebukuro, it is the first stop (about 13 min). Then, there is a free hotel bus to the Daiichi hotel (about 10 min) from the Narimasu station. The pick-up location and time table are shown at http://www2.cc.saga-u.ac.jp/saga-u/riko/physics/quantum1/dai1bus.jpg If you take a taxi, it costs about 1200 yen. It takes about 30 min on foot. Map: http://www.dhh.co.jp/map.html (in Japanese) http://www2.cc.saga-u.ac.jp/saga-u/riko/physics/quantum1/map1.jpg (2) Hotel Metropolitan --- The international participants who requested a double room are accommodated. (We could not get a double room at the Daiichi hotel, but this hotel is more convenient for an accompanying person who is interested in looking around Tokyo.) Some of the Japanese participants are also accommodated. Address: Nishi-Ikebukuro 1-6-1 Toshima-ku, Tokyo, 171-8505 Japan Telephone: +81-3-3980-1111 Fax: -5600 http://www.itbc.co.jp (please go to the ENGLISH PAGE) Price for a single room per day including breakfast = 14,000 yen + tax Price for a double room per day including breakfast = 20,000 + tax If you request a double room and if we promise the local support, you need to pay the extra fee of about 6,000 yen + tax per day on Nov.2-6. Payment: cash or major cards (AMEX, VISA, MASTER) Location: in front of the Ikebukuro station, see http://www2.cc.saga-u.ac.jp/saga-u/riko/physics/quantum1/metro.jpg Access from the Narita airport: see http://www2.cc.saga-u.ac.jp/saga-u/riko/physics/quantum1/dai1.jpg (3) Nishina lodge --- Graduate students and other Japanese participants are accommodated. Price for a single room per day = 3,300 yen (1,700 yen for a Riken associate) Payment: cash Location: in RIKEN http://www.riken.go.jp/eng/CMP/cmp_e/wako_cmp_2.html ------------- Local expense ------------- We promised the local support for some participants. It includes the single hotel room expense on Nov.2-6 (7th departure) and per diem (4000 yen/day). The hotel fee is paid by Riken directly, so that you do not have to pay the room charge on Nov.2-6. We increased the amount of per diem (3000 yen -> 4000 yen) so that it includes effectively the transportation fee between Narita and Riken. However, because we provide the welcome lunch and banquet, a certain amount of money will be subtracted out from the per diem. The per diem is paid in cash at the symposium for the international participants. It will be paid to bank accounts for Japanese people. -------------- Airline ticket -------------- If you wish to save your research fund, you had better find a discount airline ticket. The discount rate could be 30%. Although it is not our official agency, you may find some information at http://www2.cc.saga-u.ac.jp/saga-u/riko/physics/quantum1/pspin99.html. However, you should aware that there are certain restrictions on the discount ticket. ----------- Proceedings ----------- The invited and contributed talks will be published as proceedings. The speakers need to provide the following. (1) at the symposium site One-page abstract of your talk and (copies of) your five important transparencies. This is for the Riken-BNL proceedings. (2) after the symposium Written paper. This is for the Riken symposium proceedings. The details will be announced later, possibly at the symposium. --------------------- Excursion and banquet --------------------- We plan to have a half day excursion and banquet on Nov. 5. It will be a bus tour to a nearby tourist attraction, Kawagoe. The city preserves houses in the Edo era (1603-1867). Please look at http://www.city.kawagoe.saitama.jp/kawa00e.htm for the Kawagoe-city information and http://www.city.kawagoe.saitama.jp/kawa11e.htm for the tourist information. We will have the banquet at the Yamaya restaurant http://www.kawagoe.com/yamaya/syoukai.html. The excursion and banquet fees are included in the registration fee, so that we assume that all the participants join these activities. However, if you do not participate in the banquet, please inform us. The price for an accompanying person is 5000 yen. IF YOU HAVE AN ACCOUMPANYING PERSON, PLEASE INFORM US (spin99@rarfaxp.riken.go.jp) WHETHER OR NOT HE/SHE WILL JOIN THE EXCURSION AND BANQUET. ------------ Organization ------------ Local Organizing Committee chair K.
