Research Areas

SLOWRI is a universal low-energy RI-beam device at the downstream of BigRIPS at RIBF, which provides a wide variety of short-lived nuclei as high-purity and low-emittance ion beams. SLOWRI consists of two kinds of gas catchers, He gas catcher with RF carpets for ion guide and Ar gas catcher with resonant laser ionization. In 2020, the He gas catcher and a multiple reflection time-of-flight mass spectrograph (MRTOF) were installed at BigRIPS to begin comprehensive mass measurements of unmeasured short-lived nuclei using a low-energy RI beams.
